Safety Action Plan

Project Overview

The purpose of the City of Galt’s Safety Action Plan is to provide a systemic safety analysis for motorists, motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians on local non-state arterial and collector roadways. The plan will provide a proactive collision analysis of the City’s arterial and collector road network. It will also identify high-risk locations and collision patterns and develop a list of systemic low-cost and longer-term countermeasures. The plan will help the City secure future funding, in compliance with federal Safe Streets for All (SS4A), to address key safety issues.

The plan will position the City to improve transportation safety on its streets, by assessing transportation safety issues, reporting on community safety concerns, and identifying projects that can be supported/funded through the SS4A grant program.
